J. Raymond Geis, M.D., is re-elected to SIIM Board

09/01/09: AMIC's J. Raymond Geis, M.D., has been re-elected as one of only 7 physician members to the Board of Directors for the Society of Imaging Informatics (SIIM), and will continue to serve as Society Treasurer. As the preeminent international organization committed to advance computer applications and information technology in medical imaging, SIIM serves as a bridge between engineers and scientists who develop imaging informatics platforms and the radiologists who use them.

Humanitarian Excursion Planned by AMIC Physician

AMIC's Jaime Contreras MD receives Certificate of Additional Qualification in Neuroradiology

11/10/08: Dr. Jaime Contreras received his Certificate of Additional Qualification (CAQ) in Neuroradiology from the American College of Radiology. Eligibility for CAQ certification requires completion of an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology, Board Certification by the American College of Radiology, and subsequent completion of a formal 1-2 year Fellowship in Neuroradiology. Candidates must then pass a rigorous half-day oral examination administered by ACR examiners, most of whom are highly-respected leaders in the field of Neuroradiology.

Dr. Contreras joined Advanced Medical Imaging in 2007 following completion of a 1-year Neuroradiology Fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA. Prior to training at Stanford, Dr. Contreras completed a 1-year Fellowship in Diagnostic Neuroradiology at the famous Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, internationally recognized as a leader in neurological research and patient care.

Tracey Florant receives 'Champion of Hope' Award

10/25/08: AMIC's Tracy Florant, MD receives the "2008 Champion of Hope" award on October 25, 2008. Presented by the Hope Lives! Breast Cancer Support Center, this award recognizes recipients for their "unrelenting commitment and outstanding professional service to woman in Northern Colorado diagnosed with breast cancer". Hope Lives! Breast Cancer Support Center is a non-profit organization in Northern Colorado that offers complementary services at no charge to women battling breast cancer.

Dr. Florant is a Board Certified Radiologist with subspecialty expertise in Women's Imaging, and has been with AMIC since 1995. Dr. Florant currently serves as Medical Director of the PVHS Breast Diagnostic Center.
